You are unhappy about a plan to make your local airport bigger and increase the number of flights. You live near the airport.

Write a letter to your local newspaper. In your letter

Dear Sir,

Through your leading newspaper, I wish to draw the attention of higher authorities towards a serious problem. To be exact, I got to know about a recent development project regarding expansion of our local air port and increasing the number of flights there. Being a resident of Defence phase 3, a highly populated area in the vicinity of the airport, I honestly feel that this kind of plan will jeopardise the health and safety of the local residents.

Analytically speaking, the project will, on the one hand, increase the traffic flow in the area and, on the second place; too much VIP movement will also be a source of disturbance for people and traffic police.

Sir, in actuality, in my personal view point, this project is just a wastage of money because, even after this development, it will not be possible to cater to the ongoing problem of shortage of flights for passengers. In the same way, as lay man, I am unable to understand the planning ability of the engineers of government departments. While designing this up gradation, some simple facts are ignored.

Factually speaking, government has sufficient land available outside the city which is too vast to be used for such mega project. Furthermore, it is also suitable for future up gradations. So, keeping in view our concerns, this project must be reconsidered before execution.
